    Bristol WIB seeks Grant Coordinator

    This approximately one year position will be responsible for the coordination of a "Health Care Skills Gap" grant awarded to the Bristol Workforce Investment Board (WIB). The Bristol WIB's Healthcare Skills Gap Partnership is designed to address the workforce development needs of the greater Fall River, Taunton and Attleboro areas.

    The partnership will undertake an ambitious effort to develop job training and career opportunities for unemployed individuals and health care employees at many different levels. The Bristol Healthcare Skills Partnership (BHSP) is comprised of the Bristol Workforce Investment Board, local Career Centers, Bristol Community College, and area healthcare employers.

    The BHSP project centers on increasing skills and career ladder opportunities for southeast MA job seekers in healthcare occupations with strong regional demand. Primary grant activities shall include the development of an expanded CNA program that will allow for a timelier and more effective transition to Licensed Practical Nurse and Registered Nurse programs. In addition, course alignment and curriculum development activities will be undertaken in the field of Clinical Laboratory Science. Dislocated workers, economically disadvantaged adults, at-risk youth and incumbent workers lacking an Associates Degree will be targeted for participation in grant activities. These activities will be designed to increase the potential for these participants to achieve an Associates Degree and beyond.

    This position requires an innovative and highly motivated person who is able to work independently.

    As the sole full-time paid member of the team, the coordinator's responsibilities would be to:

  • Coordinate all grant related training and career development activities
  • Serve as point person to communicate with grantor
  • Serve as point person to communicate with partners (business, education and public sector)
  • Assist partners in identifying gaps in participants' education and job skills that are required to access Licensed Practical Nurse and Nursing Degree programs
  • Develop training programs that are responsive to the needs of all partners and participants
  • Work with local Community College to fully implement grant training programs
  • Develop program marketing and promotional materials
  • Develop and implement the tracking and documentation methods and processes required to meet all reporting requirements (financial/budgetary, program results, etc.) Complete reports as required by funding sources
  • Facilitate partnership's working committees (curriculum development, training program development, course alignment)
  • Negotiate and purchase support services (supplies, printing, etc.)
  • Hold vendors accountable to contract specifications
  • Forge relationships with area healthcare employers
  • Coordinate enrollment of participants in training with local One-Stop Career Centers and other grant partners
  • Coordinate and assist in performing case management and job development activities for program participants

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree and 5+ years relevant experience (preferably in health care or training capacity)
  • Training project management skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience in establishing/facilitating strong partnerships
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proficient with PC (MS Office) Preferred Requirements:

  • Understanding of requirements for employment in the healthcare field
  • Familiarity with local area healthcare providers
  • Knowledge of the workforce development system including Career Center operations and related grants

    Other Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation for required travel to sites within the Bristol Workforce Investment Area (greater Fall River, Taunton and Attleboro) and grant meetings and/or training activities within the state of Massachusetts.

    This position requires an innovative and highly motivated person who is able to work independently.

    Salary Range: $47,000-$50,000 plus benefits
