    "The Workforce Investment Act represents national consensus on the need to restructure a multitude of workforce development programs into an integrated workforce investment system that can better respond to the employment needs of its customers-current workers, workers laid-off due to restructuring and downsizing, and new entrants to the labor force, as well as employers."-U.S. Department of Labor

    The Bristol Workforce Investment Board is one of 16 Workforce Boards throughout Massachusetts, servicing the communities of Attleboro, Berkley, Dighton, Fall River, Mansfield, North Attleboro, Norton, Raynham, Rehoboth, Seekonk, Somerset, Swansea, Taunton and Westport. We are charged overseeing and implementing workforce development initiatives throughout the Workforce Investment Area. Board members offer a wide range of skills and experience and include representatives from local businesses, educational Institutions, Community Based Organizations, labor unions, governmental agencies, economic development bodies, and Chambers of Commerce.

    The Bristol Workforce Investment Board oversees a wide range of workforce development activities in southeastern Massachusetts, representing a multitude of federal and state funding streams. These include Youth, Adult and Dislocated Worker programs funded by the Workforce Investment Act, The Career Centers of Bristol County, School to Career initiatives, DOE Adult Basic Education activities, The Workforce Training Fund and other specially funded workforce development activities.
